Zimbabwe – US Business Forum, Peninsula Hotel, New York, 21 September 2024

1. The Embassy of Zimbabwe in Washington D.C. in conjunction with the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA) and the America Chamber of Commerce in Harare (AmCham)  successfully hosted the Zim – US Business Forum at Peninsular Hotel in New York on 21st September 2024 on the margins of the 79th United Nations General Assembly. The Business Forum was presided over by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade on behalf of His Excellency, the President, Cde E.D. Mnangagwa.  
2. The Forum attracted at least 90 investors drawn from the US and the Zimbabwe diaspora.

3. Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade delivered a statement on behalf of His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe and congratulated the Zimbabwe Embassy in Washington DC and their partners, ZIDA and Amcham for organizing a successful business forum. The Minister acknowledged that the Forum succeeded in providing a platform for the American investors and the diaspora to exchange views with Senior Government officials on their business interests, updating each other on progress on various trade and investment projects being pursued, as well as enunciate current policies governing the Zimbabwean economy.

4. ZIDA CEO outlined investment opportunities ranging from extractive sectors, mining, agriculture, processing and financial services, among others.
