WARNING: BOGUS AGENCY CALLED ‘MAKOMBE OFFICIAL’ MAKING FALSE REPRESENTATION ABOUT ONLINE ISSUANCE OF NATIONAL DOCUMENTS

It has come to the attention of the Embassy of the Republic of Zimbabwe to the USA, Washington D.C. that an agency by the name ‘Makombe Official’ is circulating false claims on social media that the Registrar General’s Office has introduced the processing of Zimbabwean identification documents such as passports, national identity cards, birth certificates and emergency travel documents online.

The Embassy of the Republic of Zimbabwe wishes to inform all prospective applicants for such documents and the generality of Zimbabwean nationals resident in the United States of America that such an arrangement does not exist and that the Registrar General’s Office has dismissed this as utterly false and misleading. If ever there are developments or changes to the current procedure of the issuance these national documents, that would be done through an official notification. As it stands, no such official notification has been pronounced.

The Embassy of the Republic of Zimbabwe in Washington D.C. would therefore wish to advise all concerned clients to dismiss the social media article by “Makombe Official” and not to make any attempt to seek their services as they are a bogus entity that is seeking to usurp and fleece their valued funds.

Zimbabwean nationals are therefore urged to approach the Embassy for assistance for their documentation and not fall victim to online agencies whose authenticity is not verified.
