FACILITATION OF AUTHENTICATION OF LIFE CERTIFICATES TO BE COMPLETED BY NSSA OUTSIDE ZIMBABWE: 1 SEPTEMBER TO 30 NOVEMBER 2026

Dear NSSA Pensioners resident in the USA,

The Embassy wishes to advise that the National Social Security Authority (NSSA) will be conducting a nation-wide Life Certificate Verification Exercise from 1 September 2026 to 30 November 2026 for all pensioners receiving benefits under its schemes. This exercise has been extended to NSSA pensioners residing outside Zimbabwe.

The Embassy of Zimbabwe in Washington, D.C. will, therefore, facilitate the authentication exercise at its office in Washington, D.C. for NSSA pensioners residing in the USA during the dates of the exercise. The pensioners will be required do the following:

  1. Download the prescribed Life Certificate Form from the NSSA website;
  2. Complete the form and present themselves in person to the Consular Office at the Embassy or, where necessary, to a recognized Notary Public or Commissioner of Oaths;
  3. Produce a valid Zimbabwe passport or national identity card; and,
  4. Sign the Life Certificate Form in the presence of a consular officer.

Once the Life Certificate has been verified, signed and stamped, it will be returned to the applicant who will then submit it to NSSA either through email or other secure means.

Please note that the exercise will be conducted during normal consular hours: Mondays-Thursdays from 09.30 am to 14.30 pm and will be closed during Zimbabwean holidays and US Federal holidays.
