Zimbabwe Independence Celebration 2023
Ambassador Chifamba and the Embassy of Zimbabwe staff joined the Zimbabweans in the Washington DC capital region to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of Independence.
Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders Young Africans leadership Initiative (YALI)
Hundreds of young African leaders gathered in Washington, D.C. in July 2023 for the 2023 Mandela Washington Fellowship Summit. Selected from a pool of nearly 50,000 applicants, the 700 participants strengthened their leadership skills and exchanged ideas with leaders from Africa and the United States. The Zimbabweans who were part of the conference paid a courtesy call to the ambassador.
Zimbabwe Robotics Team
25 students and 3 teachers from Tynwald High School Harare and Milestone College Rusape came to the US on an immersion tour organized by Wafamba Wafamba Consulting, a Washington DC based Management Consulting firm . While in the US they visited University of Maryland School of Robotics, Amazon, NASA, TESLA . They also engaged with robotics students at Boys Latin School in Baltimore Maryland. They ended their tour by paying a courtesy call to the Ambassador and briefed him on their tour.
