EXTENSION OF SUSPENSION OF IN-PERSON CONSULAR VISITS TO THE CHANCERY
The Embassy of the Republic of Zimbabwe refers to its Public Announcement of the 21st of December 2020, which announced the suspension of in person consular services due to the increase in Covid-19 infection rates of the second wave. Further to that announcement, the Embassy wishes to advise that the status of the infection rate has unfortunately not changed for the better.
In view of the obtaining situation and the need to mitigate against the dangers of the pandemic, the Embassy wishes to advise that the suspension of in person consular services has been extended indefinitely. As a result, the booking calendar will be blocked out. Applicants with extremely urgent cases (proof of urgency to be supplied) will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
The Embassy will allow for a limited number of Passport Applications every Wednesday from 10.00am to 1pm after prior considerations of their urgency have been made (check requirements on www.zimembassydc.org No assistance will be rendered if you do not fully fulfil them). Although the Embassy will make effort to assist urgent cases, please note that the Registrar General’s Office in Zimbabwe is currently operating at a skeletal capacity and is not receiving applications until further notice.
Please note that all online consular services (refer to the Mission’s website) will continue to be rendered. The Embassy will update you on the developments as and when the situation evolves, and request that you bear with us during these unprecedented times
